Akira Kurosawa's nuclear nightmare:
Mount Fuji in Red
Akira Kurusawa
In his 1990 film Dreams, Japan's master filmmaker Akira Kurosawa warned of a national calamity and a nuclear disaster in his home country, a portent of the multiple nuclear meltdowns at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant. "The nuclear power plant has exploded!" he tells us. "The six atomic reactors. They're exploding one after another!" Then he warns us, "Man's stupidity is unbelievable. They told us nuclear power plants were safe! Human accident is the danger, not the nuclear plant itself!". 7 minutes and 39 seconds.
